EE App shows Full Fibre is here - Yet when upgrading only getting FTTC plans

As per title:

Is this a mismatch between the app and online account as when I follow Upgrade Now I only get presented with FTTC plans not full fibre.

There has been recent activity by a company called Comm Plex laying fibre and installing CBT's on poles both near my home & outside it (image below of the CBT outside my property).

Comm Plex seem to be doing this on behalf of Openreach. The image below is a 4 port CBT, where I live it would only serve 4 or 5 addresses as there are other nearby poles with CBT's on them for the other properties.

I have checked Openreach and they show only they are building in the next 12 months even though a majority of the area is a Full Fibre area,

The big one next to it is a Virgin Media Fibre CBT

@MarcusB1 Use the fiber and the btw checker's, address and postcode to check, there is a lot more to fibre than just shoving it up on the top off a pole!.

@JimM11 I have checked both and they show not available, bit weird the EE app is. Just wondering if this a mistake on EE's part.

@MarcusB1 Picture takes a while to be cleared so no one gets to view it until then, so if the checks say your not available then that is the one to go with, app who knows, chocolate teapot for that one!

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.

@XRaySpeX I've already checked it only shows FTTC which I currently have. WBC FTTP is not yet showing, which is why I asked why the EE app shows Full Fibre upgrade option.

Comm Plex must be another Full Fibre infrastructure independent of OR. Are you in NE England?

Yes

Only VM & Netomnia (YouFibre) are operating within this area at present. Streetworks shows the works being carried out by Openreach, but CommPlex are doing the work for them if you follow.

Yes, that's where they operate. See Commplex Network Services

So, you won't get Full Fibre from EE but from 1 if their ISPs. Try going to 1 of them.

@XRaySpeX Comm Plexx have no ISPs/Network within this area, as I've mentioned there is only Virgin Media, Netomnia (You Fibre) and Openreach, City Fibre is nearby but it's not them.

CommPlex are doing the fibre laying for Openreach (this I have checked and only OR are carrying out work within the area I live) Streetworks is only showing Openreach in the area laying cables and new poles no other Network operator is doing any work.

However this doesn't explain why the EE app says I can upgrade to Full fibre when it's not actually available

@MarcusB1 Looks like the VM Fibre is up and active with 2 people connected on the service from them, just gives you the choice if you need it!

Yes, one of them was me and they were shocking 😫 I ditched them once I ran out the minimum term.

Will wait for OR to update and upgrade with EE as get a good deal on a 5G sim unlimited data.

@MarcusB1 Must have just be you then, boy has just started his third year come next month but he is on the 2Gb/s symmetrical with them and really no issues apart from the DNS screwup mess they had 6 months or so past!

@JimM11 VM round this area are using RFoG so not symetrical, although speeds were good sometimes would get a lot of buffering on streaming content, compared to FTTC with no issues.

@MarcusB1 Very naughty off them at least the boy got FF direct and the 5x hub supplied which actually on the 10Gb/s interface has worked out very well with his PC gaming and PS5 Pro setup.

@MarcusB1 Wont be long then for EE to offer it up, they are fairly quick once OR tell them it is live, just a matter off the software database getting updated! Keep checking!
