My Dell C1765nfw Laser printer not working since changing from BT to EE router

A few months ago BT switched my router to one from EE and I've noticed that the Dell laser printer seems to have vanished from the printer lists on all our laptops/desktop. My brother thinks it is down to the IP address (he printed off a sheet and it says 0.0.0.0) he said the router is not picking up the printer, it is connected with a network cable. If I ring EE will they be able to help me? I'm not sure why my Brother printer is still working and the Dell isn't but the Dell is much older.

Any advice is much appreciated but bear in mind I am in no way a computer expert 😂

@Ren77 Have a read at the link below with regards to the 20-30 second delay that the Ethernet port on that EE Router has, not saying it would be the problem and you would need to get a short patch cable also if you go that way unless you have a spare lying around, otherwise http://192.168.1.254 and web manager to the hub and see if you see the laser printer attached as an Ethernet device with a connected IP.

I opened up that link and a page called 'hub manager' came up but I wanted to attach the screenshot in here but can't see an attachment icon. It's all double dutch to me. In the 'My Network' box it says 'wireless 15' - 'ethernet 8'.

There are two sections in the 'wireless' box

EE-Z98QXM - 2.4GHz - status: on, 5GHz status: on

EE-Z98QXM - Comp 2.4GHz status: off, 5GHz status: off

Can't see the word 'ethernet' anywhere on that page. Are those numbers in "My Network" channels? My brother told me to ring EE and ask about those and tell them that the Dell has disappeared from my printer settings on both my husbands windows laptop/main desktop and all my MacBook laptops.

He said that the new router can't see the printer yet the ink jet printers are both still connected.

You won't see the word 'Ethernet' anywhere on the WiFi page. Those numbers in "My Network" channels are the nos. of your devices connected by WiFi or Ethernet.

@Ren77 Will take a look when the pictures get approved for viewing, yes mac address numbers have to be wiped out partial to get approved through the filter process.

@Ren77 You don't per chance have note off the MAC address on the Dell laser printer, first four numbers would be enough just like you blanked the others with the text, can see the 9 network connected devices, looks like you have some switches in circuit but you Laser may be hidden if off one of the 3 smart wireless Extenders you are using, you have a lot going on Network wise. Think that there will be a label somewhere on the printer, but you may also see it on the sample you had printed out before hand! Jim

I'm so sorry to keep bothering you with this Jim, it's so kind of you to help ....

I'm looking at the sheet my brother printed off from the printer and next to Mac Address it says: 08:00:37:ED:7F:FA

The printer has got a long cable plugged into the back and goes into the router.

I can scan the whole sheet if that helps?

What’s the model of the Dell printer? I wonder if it only has a 10mbps Ethernet port. See the note at the bottom of the page here.

It's a Dell C1765nfw colour MFP, what I don't undestand is why it's disappeared from all our laptop printer settings. I'm sure the timing matches to when they switched me from my BT router to this EE one. The BT one was more reliable. My brother keeps telling me to ring EE and ask them about it but I can't face going through a dozen menu's before I get to speak to someone. 😂 I'm trying to find a manual somewhere, it's that old I'm sure I got a paper instruction book, remember those days?

Honestly would be trying it through a separate switch as not seeing it anywhere on your list, and you are not indicating where you have it plugged into, so keep me guessing! Did give you a call just so you know! Jim

Took a photo where the cable is plugged into - it runs from the printer across the skirting and up into the back of that Neatgear thing, it's like spaghetti junction back there, my brother is so untidy and I keep trying to organise the cables, drives me nuts. There is a windows desktop computer in the same room along with two Brother printers but they aren't plugged in via a cable.

What is that Netgear thing? The printer isn't connected to the EE SH+ router by Ethernet, but somewhere else. So it could be arriving at the EE router over WiFi?
