Incorrect Network Name on my ee Broadband

I recently moved to EE from BT and received a new modem.

The issue I have is that my broadband network name shows up as BT-****, whereas my settings card shows network name as EE-*****

This means that I do not know the network name and password, which is an issue when trying to connect with new devices!

And no, the EE password does not pair with the BT network name!

It's not a total dealbreaker - as I set up a lot of devices using the WPS button on the modem. So my PC, TV and mobile are all connect to the BT-*** named network. (For which I don't know the password!)

Any advice?

It should be the same as the SSID & pwd you had with the BT router.

When you were setting up the EE app & pairing the EE router with it you would've been asked whether you wanted to take on the WiFi creds of your existing router & it looks like you did so.

If you want the EE router to revert to its own creds you should factory reset it.

It would have transferred the details (and devices) across from your old BT Hub through the transfer devices function when you were setting it up. The idea is that it changes the details to match your old Hub so that most devices can connect automatically.

It will be the same password as your BT Hub had, so I would advise taking a picture of the card from this, or viewing the password and taking a note of this from one of the connected devices. Most smartphones support viewing your password, by going to your WiFi settings and tapping the icon beside the network name.

Your network name has nothing to do with who the service provision is from, you could theoretically change it to anything you like.
