Hello there! Obligatory "sorry if this is posted somewhere else but I've searched and searched...".

So, recently moved into a property with an external annexe. The annexe has a network point connecting underground to the main house. In the main house, we've just got EE broadband (Fibre 67), with an EE Hub (SmartHub SH30A). The previous owners extended into the annexe with a TP Link Wireless Access Point (TL-WA801N), so I got one. I've connected the EE Hub to the network point, and I've connected the AP in the annexe also. I've got through the default Access Point setup.

I've tried it with no settings changes and the TP link user/pwrd. I've tried changing the user/pwrd to the EE hub one. I've changed the AP to StaticIP and disabled DHCP. Each time I get a wifi connection available that I can connect to, but can't load any webpages etc. (using an iPhone, but I don't get a "No internet" note on the connection either).

I'm ok with computers, but it comes to network stuff my limit is mostly reached beyond simpler stuff.

What am I missing? Please help 😄

Is a pretty old AP device point, do allow 30 seconds for the EE Router nic to see the device on the cable port!

You would also find that the TL-WA1801 is closer in spec to the EE hub, but you will get the slower link speed on the older version that you have!

Download for TL-WA801N | TP-Link United Kingdom

What is the "the TP link user/pwd"? The TP-Link shouldn't need any username/pwd; the PPPoE auth is solely done by the EE SH+ (SH30A). You should be setting the WAN of the TP-Link as Ethernet not PPPoE.

Thank you for this. But unless I’m being a moron, I cannot see an option to do this in the TP Link settings/admin page.

I have confirmed the Ethernet port works. So I’m very confused!

Show us the WAN settings page. Isn't the 1 where you are trying "the TP link user/pwd"?

Thanks Jim. I had that instruction page in the packaging, but alas, it didn't seem to solve anything as I followed all the instructions.

But, and I've set it as the solution comment now, but everything suddenly just started working. After a fair few hours, admittedly on and off, I got there in the end, and I'm relieved enough that I'll ask questions another time haha.

And that is fast enough for most system to operate on!
