topic Ee and sky q wifi booster issue in Broadband & Landline

Hi after months of backwards and forwards with sky and replacement sky q boxes.

Hi everyone, i think i have finally got to the bottom of my issue.
My setup was the new ee hub and 3 ee wifi boosters. Sky q main box hard wired, x3 mini boxes, one of which is hard wired.
I contacted ee and they suggested resetting router with the pinhole in back of device, i did this and this hit out all 3 of my ee wifi boosters, which i decided to leave off just as a test for a few weeks. Sky has been working perfectly with no disconnections.
So last night i decided to connect just one of the ee wifi boosters back online right next to the router.
Came down this morning and sky q main box was disconnected again with the fan going.
Have reset ee hub again and disconnected the ee wifi booster. This seems to be the issue, i will keep boosters disconnected and monitor again.

I changed to ee from bt and had wifi discs with bt and they were never an issue. So obviously there is a major issue with the ee wifi boosters and sky q compatibility. I can no longer use my 3 boosters.

Please advise

Hi jimm11

I checked in the discussions, nothing really ro point to the direct problem that i am experiencing.

My system is as follows.

Sky q main box hard wired with ethernet cable back to the ee router.

3 sky mini boxes, one of which is hard wired back to the ee router, the other 2 on wifi.

This all is stable and a constant with no disconnection. I was sent x3 ee wifi boosters because of the layout of the property.

I was previously on bt with the same setup and 3 wifi discs all running with no issue all on standard internet not fibre.

I then changed to ee full fibre and had the same layout. It only seems to be that the ee wifi boosters are the problem that affect the sky q main box, even though this is hard wired.

The only other issue that may be relative is that mine and my wifes wifi calling on our samsung phones was also intermittently dropping out and you had to keep restarting phone for it to return. Since ee boosters have been switched off this has resolved. This also wasn't an issue with my old bt router and wifi disc setup. May not be relevant but thought i would add in just in case.

Unless you hardwire all the mini's you are going to need that Q mesh! Use a wireless wi-fi analyser to see what is going on with the wireless side!

The other question has to be, with the sky Q and the 3 mini's all hot spotting do you even need the EE Smart wireless extenders to cover more wireless, Q is just not playing nice with the EE Smart wireless and just because you have them does not mean that you have to use them.

EE smart wireless is NOT BT smart wireless the technology is different!

You wouldn't be able to guarantee this with EE's latest routers regardless as you have no control of the 5GHz channel selection; they do prefer higher channels, but won't always use them depending on the radio environment.
