The Wavlink is the one in use. It's got a 300m range and can be wireless or by lan. I use wireless as its to get me to top of garden, which it does. The issue is that I can stand next to the aerial of it and still get same speed as what I get from top of garden. So I figure the range is fine it's just the speed it's giving out. The other extender I got as test unit just to see if there was any difference! (Some Chinese model)

I've tried a couple of wifi range extender with alleged capabilities of 1200 maps. Reality is only getting around 8mbps. Are there EE settings that block 3rd party extenders/repeaters? Are there settings i should change in main router? Both repeaters I've tried get full strength input from EE router but both have failed to send out decent signal! Any guidance appreciated

@Everyone

The black wifi6 router from EE. The one that gives me best range is a Wavlink outdoor but only gives me 6mbps on my device 100ft away and the other is some Chinese plug in job that gives 16mbps in next room but gives no distance

I have spoke to Wavlink who offered some advice, none of which changed anything so what do you think maybe the issue with the extender?

What spec are they? Do they plug into a LAN port or just extend your WiFi?

Either way extending WiFi 100ft away is good unless ethernet connected.

Unless it too is WiFi6 then at best it will be picking up the 2.4Ghz channel and extending only that. .

The 5Ghz channels tend to work at higher speeds but over a shorter distance, the 2.4Ghz channels a bit further but at lower speeds. I would say you are doing well at 100Ft.

It's the Wavlink N300. My router is pushing just over 300mbps surely it shouldn't lose this much at the extender.

Is there an alternative that will produce a better speed 50M away would you know?

Realistically an ethernet cable with a higher spec extender would give you better speeds.

EE do the smart WiFi devices, but they would need en ethernet backhaul to maintain those and higher speeds.
