topic WPS security in Broadband & Landline

I recently added the EE wifi extender (Smart Wifi Plus) and you connect it using the WPS button. My kids can only get on to wifi when we let them but now they can connect to wifi by pressing the WPS on the extender. If I disable WPS in the hub settings it disconnects the extender so how do you put security on it or is there some other way of stopping this? Thanks for any help.

@MitchEEl Kids, they will find every dodge in the book, the wps of the hub or the router should make no difference to operation as used to pair both the devices, so there may be something else going on with the Parental Controls section of the software, it's an uphill battle to block them using so, or working out how to get round everything, so you need to do the same test for yourself, put your phone in a group block it and go test, if it does allow you access then it is time to call EE CS and report that as an issue and get around failure so they can look at it, meantime yes, wps off and tell them you press the button and everything goes off then you are down for good, simple as that!

Disabling WPS shouldn't disconnect the extender. It's enabled on my hub at the moment but I'm sure I've had it disabled previously and my extender remained paired.

Regardless, worth looking into parental controls like @JimM11 suggests as that's probably a much more graceful way to manage access.

Thanks I'll have to disable their devices rather than the wifi. Cheers
