Smart WiFi SW30A of which I have 2, 1 works as it should with no issues. The other 1 was purchased for use in an outbuilding to enable wifi there and originally worked fine.It is connected to a Smart Hybrid Connect HC10A 4G router which is also next to it in the outbuilding. The router has a steady aqua light however the Smart WiFi flashes green.

As I say I have 2 of each and the set within the home is ok.

I did swap the Smart WiFi's over as a test but with no difference which to me may indicate a fault with the 1 situated within the outbuilding as it failed to work in the house. I had considered the outbuilding might be an issue ,its just 15 yards from the house and initally it worked as it should.

Hope this helps

Good answer and one I'll investigate . How can I find out what data I have for this device and if it's indeed run out ?

It would have been BT that enabled the set up. I asked at the time regarding a second source of internet in the outbuilding and was told no problem. So would it be advantageous then to have a second main router in the outbuilding ? Sorry for my lack of knowledge, Ive tried to get through to a real person by calling 150 and not a bot but been unsuccesfull.

I still don't know what these two smaller black hubs are. They can't be Smart WiFi Plus (SW30A) cuz that is white.

Is the main hub in the house a black EE Smart Hub Plus (SH31B or SH32B)?

How are these various bits of kit each connected, by cable or WiFi?

How about posting photos of all these bits of kit?

Afterthought: With the mention of the 2 small black "hubs" I do wonder if the setup in the house is of BT kit with a BT Smart Hub 2 feeding 2 black BT Complete Home WiFi disks. In which case I can't see them driving 2 white Smart WiFi Plus (SW30A). So maybe there is a 2nd line to the outbuilding with EE kit.

To clarify, can you put by editing "#1"s & "#2"s, say, in that last post against the various bits of kit as "X1" doesn't tell us which is which & confuses.

The Smart Hybrid Connect #2 in the outbuilding can't work w/out being connected to the Smart WiFi Plus router by Ethernet cable. I'm even unsure whether you can have more than 1 Smart Hybrid Connect connected to 1 router.

Just un plug it, take it back close to the SH main unit and power it back up again, once it boots up see if it stops the flashing green, if not connect it to the SH with an Ethernet cable, just leave it there 24 hours in case it has missed a FW update. After that period, power it off, unplug the ethernet between them, switch it back on and wait until it boots goes through it's sequence and hopefully ends up steady aqua light. Move it again to about halfway to the outbuilding and power it again same make sure it powers up and works. If all good then move to the final position as before.

Copy of the link to setup smart wireless below should you need to refer to it.

https://ee.co.uk/help/broadband/getting-started/setting-up-smart-wifi

https://ee.co.uk/help/broadband/fix-problem/fix-problems-with-smart-wifi
