Hello

Hi there,

About a year ago, I was sent an EE Smart Hub, but I honestly can’t remember why it was sent to me. Right now, I have BT Broadband with a BT Smart Hub already set up and working fine. I also have access to EE WiFi for free through my BT account.

I tried setting up the EE Smart Hub using the official instructions. The hub has a SIM card slot—do I need a SIM card to use it? I managed to get it to light up blue (which I believe means it’s working), but I’m still not sure what exactly the EE hub is for.

Is it meant to replace my BT Smart Hub? Or does it just give me another way to access EE WiFi—not the public EE WiFi, but private access through my connection?

Also, sometimes the EE hub starts flashing green, which makes me think something isn’t set up correctly.

Where can I find clear info on what this hub is for and how to properly install or use it? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

What you have there is an EE 4G or 5G Smart Hub . This is a mobile BB router. It does not replace your BT Smart Hub in giving connection to BT BB but offers you an alternative way of getting on the Net.

It does require a SIM. You must have put 1 in as you say it is working. Which light is flashing green? If it is an envelope symbol it has received some SMS.
