I’m stumped with this. According to the EE app (manage, broadband) both my boosters show as ‘getting no signal’, if I click on them, they show as online (confirmed by the aqua light on the boosters) and that devices are connected to them and working.

I’m not sure if this is a bug, or if something is wrong with the setup? I do seem to have lots of issues with speeds slowing dawn over the course of a few days, fixed by a reboot of the main router.

Thank you.

Last night I factory reset one of the boosters, which then showed online, but this morning my other booster which was showing online was showing no signal. Did a factory reset of that one, it now shows strong signal but the other one has now reverted to showing no signal.

I’ve looked at the browser page and both show connected, albeit the one that shows no signal in the app has 34 Devices connected and the one that shows online now has 0 devices.

Honestly baffled by the whole thing.

@Tinbum73 Welcome to the world of software in general, and EE version is not out to help you solve anything in any quick manner, that's for sure, the quickest and easiest way, is use 1 device, stand about 5' away from the extender, do speed test couple of times, little bit of time between so you get the average. Switch the extender off, stay exactly were you are for the speed test and re run, if you have a connection to the router when off at that point, speed should drop dramatically because of the distance and no extender to help push the signal to the router....

What is connected to where is open to debate, do NOT use EE mesh so cannot comment on it's ability or how good the operation is, but will say experienced user posting's have all been good, especially wired backhaul to the router, wireless and mesh total connections are way open to how the operation is. There is a learning and bedding in of the mesh, have no idea timescale wise what/how it learns etc, but you do have to take it into consideration.

Only software that i can tell you off is wifi analyzer by matt hafner, it is PC or IOS, no android, but it is good at showing the primary device, ie my laptop, where it has latched onto MAC wise, so i do know exactly were it is connected to. Free version is fully functional, with its i think one day per month everything then clamped down for the remainder before opening up again. You may have your own that helps.

Just trying to get a feel for it, example OR installed my sister's EE last week, placed the router on the floor, when i measure various locations signal strength was about 65db, placed the router up at 5' above the floor and signal strength jumped to 40-45db average, dramatic effect on speed and general operation, sister asked me why has it got so good so quick, what did i do, nothing apart from lift it up, you do not want it on the floor was my answer. so whole home is now covered by one single EE router, nothing else is needed wireless wise.

You can also have far to much wifi, but that is easy to spot, because wireless drops off the further you get away from the router, more than 30 foot, and you are looking to extend, but having the extender in the correct place is very important.

I’ve always needed boosters, for some reason the WiFi just doesn’t travel far in this house. I get good connections and speeds, it’s this odd thing with the boosters showing a status that doesn’t reflect what it’s actually doing!

There is another post if you can or when i get time will look for it, but the OP took the extender, connected it up to the router by the ethernet, left it all for a day or so, switched it off and everything just all burst into life, but cannot remember the actual issue, think it was kind of app orientated but not sure. There are not many wifi 7 extenders posted so you would find it easy on a search, just a couple of weeks ago.

If you mean connecting the extender to the router through ethernet, no, I did not, as the cable is behind a furniture and it took me a while to put it through.

However, the extender is paired, and I can plug a laptop connected to the extender by ethernet, and I have internet, so it is actually connected to the router.

On the router dashboard, I see the extender, but the connection type is “N/A”, whilst in the other extender shows as 6 Ghz. So, it looks like is not broadcasting any wifi network, although it is connected to one.

i'm getting exactly the same scenario. I've got three Wi-Fi pro extenders and only one of the three is showing as having a strong signal. The other two are showing as having no signal but actually have a number of connected devices.

the only time the status changes from no signal is if I move the extender too close to the router and then the status changes to "too close"

I think I'm close to giving up trying to get the app to show strong signal on all Wi-Fi extenders, instead I just need to focus on making sure that I'm getting a good service in all rooms. that might take some time

In my case no device can connect to those extender with no signal on wifi, but they work if connected with a cable. Once connected, they are able to go on internet, but not showing on the local network. I wonder if this is caused by me modifying the SSID.

One of mine is doing the same thing. Was having problems with it initially so moved it and once I found the right area in my house(upstairs on top of the wardrobe) it’s been showing strong signal for weeks but all of a sudden it’s started saying no signal yet a number of devices are connected to it and the light is aqua. Did you manage to sort yours? It’s so annoying.
