Hey All,

I am new customer and have my own router - i understand EE SH+ has to be still connected for the Voip to work for my landline which is fine. I have my own router (Linksys Velop 5300) connected to the SH+ In bridge mode and it works witH THE EE SH+ Wifi off and doing all the routing.
But i find the EE app really buggy cant run a speed test and range using the EE SH+ on its own is not gret in my home.

i put my MX5300 in Auto DHCP and turn off the EE SH+ DHCP and it all went down. is there any way i can have the MX5300 as my primary router doing the DHCP and use the EE SH+ as a Wired Access point. Would i need a switch between EESH+ and my router ?

You ccn expect some obnoxious flashing LEDs thouogh as the SH3+ will grumble that iti isn't connected to theh Internet.

Do you want to use the EE router as a wireless access point or do you want to use it for the phone connection?

If wireless access point then basically you turn everything off except the wireless function, give it a static address in the network being managed by your own router and then connect it LAN to LAN with your own router.

If you need to use it for the phone but want all other traffic passed to your own router then this is the best bet:

https://community.bt.com/t5/Home-phone-including-Digital/BT-Digital-upgrade-to-landline-will-third-p...

See message 5.

Yes, in principle.

I'm not familiar with the MX5300, though, but I assume the auto DHCP will allow it to pick up a public address from the EESH+. Even without that, it should be possible to create the MX5300 as a sub-network of the EESH+ with the gateway of the MX passing traffic to the EE which then routes it to the internet, as in that BT post.

Try it, see if it works.
