EE digital voice with own router

I'm currently with BT with 1G fibre and the BT SmartHub 2.

I also need digital voice so have my primary DECT handset plugged directly into the SmartHub 2.

I’m about to move to EE on a far better broadband/mobile deal.

I’m also planning on switching to my own WIFI setup using TP-Link devices, including the TP-Link Omada ER7212PC.

I’ve seen from other posts that for DV on EE I must use the EE router, but can still have my ER7212PC behind it.

My question is: to have this setup, is the only change I need to make to the EE router to turn WIFI off? Or are there any other settings I should switch off on the EE router?

@vulpi That is all you would need to do.

However, it may depend on how you plan to connect your phone, and if you plan to Game, as that setup will create double NAT.

Do you mean whether the handset/base is cabled or wifi? If the EE box has a telephone/RJ11 socket, then my primary handset and base are close enough that I can use physical cable from them straight into the EE box. That is, I don't need to rely on wifi for that.

Given my requirements above, would double NAT be an issue is this case?

No, it really only hits game consoles.

EE routers do have a DV phone socket into which you may plug your base station. BTW: It's not RJ11 but standard BT phone; RJ11 is for connecting DSL routers.
