Guess it depends on your needs, but there are other routers with 2.5Gb LAN and WAN ports.

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help with an issue I'm having using a third-party router( ROG Rapture GT6 | Gaming WiFi Router | ASUS ROG UK).

With EE's hub, I receive a speed of just over 1.6 Gbps. However, I would like to be able to use my Asus ROG Rapture GT6( 2.5 Gbps capable) as my home hub, the only issue is that when I use the Asus router, I cap out around 925Mbps.

To connect the Asus hub, I used the credentials from EE help page - Username: bthomehub@btbroadband.com Password: BT. I set the authentication to CHAP and for the DNS: Auto or Obtain from ISP.

If anyone can help with this, I would be extremely grateful.

Although the Asus ROG Rapture GT6 has a 2.5Gb WAN port, the ethernet ports are only 1Gb.

You should get higher speeds on WiFi.

Initially I was testing via the usual speedtest.net, but I have just seen there is a bandwidth test you can do within the GT6's GUI and that's reporting 1690 Mbps, so it would seem that to get anything over 1000, I would have to use port aggregation but unfortunately my motherboard has one single 10 gig port so that's not a viable/effcient option. I suppose I'll stick to either EE's hub or 1gig via the GT6 until I find a more suitable replacement hub.

Thanks again for your help.
