I rely on VOIP connection via EE hub .... ass there is very poor 3G/4G signal where I live.

2 scenarios

1. For past few days people are complaining my voice to them is badly breaking up ..... I can hear them OK but outgoing speech from my initiated call is unusable.

Often have to get them to phone me and that is usually OK

2. Had several instances of trying to make a call and nothing, no ringing, no engaged tone - just nothing.

when this happens I disable WiFi and re-enable and I can make outgoing calls gain.

Very unreliable.

Limited relavance in the overall scheme, but the only network who still have a 3G-RAN is O2. EE switched off in early 2024.

WiFi-calling is widely recommended as a mitigation in no coverage areas, it works extremely well providing the underlying broadband & wireless is stable - also providing mutual handover to & from the 4G network.

Yes te idea is good ... the practical implementation though is the issue, it's very intermittent.

I was in my study yesterday ./... so within 1.5m of the hub ..... and no WiFi calling icon on phone.

Turned off WiFi and back on (on phone ) and it worked.

Phone service is by Three - they test all OK, and I get the impression if WiFi calling works fine, if it doesn't they just tell you to contact Broadband provider
