That is incorrect. If they use CGNAT you would not be able to access a self hosted server from outside your network without work arounds, you are assigned a private Ip and share public Ip with other users.

EE has been part of the BT Group for about 10 years, but like Plusnet operates as an independent ISP.

Recent changes have meant that EE. Focus on residential customers, whilst BT focus on business customers.

The public external IPs issues to its BB users is dynamic, not static. That means it can potentially change every time the line re-syncs.

Seems your post got moved from the other thread.

In answer, you can if you know what you are doing and if you have a suitable router.

However as already said, ip addresses are dynamic, meaning they can change every time your router resynchs so you would need to do more that port forward some ports.

I don't understand why you keep on about a public IP. Of course, you always get a public IP. You wouldn't be able to get on the Internet without one, regardless of whether you needed to Port Forward or not. Everybody is given a public IP when they go on the Internet. Your public IP is issued to you by your ISP from blocks of IPs that it holds & has registered with a central registration authority, the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA).
