Not sure how you had the previous all set up.

EX6410 | AC1900 WiFi Range Extender | NETGEAR Support

Tech has just left after connecting the ee router , changed th SSID and password to that of the old network.

Moved over from BT Halo as the internet kept dropping out.

The old set up had 3 BT Mesh Discs and 2 Metgeat Mesh adaptors.

From what I can see the new network has been set up to a different chamel yet the discs amd exterders show om a different channel and the wifi analyser app shows this

Bt Dics are showing red

I have an observatory about 10m from the house and had been using a disc in the house to boost the signal to the observatory this isnt happening now.

Same for the one to the Netgear mesh adaptor in the out building.

Can I do anuthing with the old gear to get the access to the out buildings. Do I need to log into them and change settings or plug into the back of the EE router

Do I just ask for another EE extender and are they provided free w=like they were with EE.

I dont really want to go and drill holes and dig trenches for ethernet cables nor do I want to spend a forturne on more extenders if all I have to do is change a setting

Thanks

The black BT Complete WiFi discs don't work with EE routers; the white Whole Home should.

Which EE BB plan are you on including its speed? What EE router & WiFi extenders do you have (read label or post a pix)?

Ok Wifi in the house seems to be ok.

Only internal issue seems to be the Phillips hue lights controlled by the kitchen alexa dont work via voice control but Alexa connects to the internet. Have unplugged the hue hub and back in but that didnt do anything.

The Netgear mesh extenders Ive placed in the out buliding and observatory but they seem to be too far away from a wifi signal to connect. (Tryed conneting by WPS) They did seem to work when I had a black disc in the Study window but that has been removed. I do wonder if puting an ee extender there would sort that issue. (Window is about 6m cto 10m closer to where the hub and ee extender and hybred connect are. Both of them are placed in the best location. for the main hub.

Old house Grannite walls.

So any suggestions on boosting the signal to the out buildings with out having to drill holes etc for ethernet cables.

Ian

@skippyinspace Just not getting the relationship off the devices, think this way, the EE router wireless is a 50' circle, and you wish the Netgear Wireless to intersect, and catch the EE, so go no further than 40' away with the netgear, not sure if there are lights on the mesh that shows when connected. Easiest is mobile look at the wifi bars, walk away from the router, when you lose the signal that is the edge of the EE. You will be surprised and have to move the netgear a little closer, all things that block, walls doors kitchen tiles. bathroom tiles. etc etc. Booster's help but do not solve every potential issue... Just search for Hue Hub in the search and sort by date, 1st linked below for you.

Wi-Fi drop out - attention for HUE users - The EE Community
