We switched from BT Halo 1 to EE Broadband this week. Part of the deal was a new EE Smart Hub Plus and Smart WiFi Plus.

I have set both up using the Web interface.

If I go on the Web management page of the router it tells me I have 5 wireless devices & 15 ethernet devices.

This is wrong. At this moment. There is one Raspberry PI & one Synology NAS drive wired to the router. A Sky Q box wired to the Smart WiFi Plus box. Everything else is wireless.

Everything is working so I am not overly bothered. Just curious why it's not listing stuff correctly?

On the hub page it says I am running FW 2.68.18. App version 2.36.4.

Everything is working. I can see four wifi entries on phone's wifi analyser app. If I move away from the router it switches to the extender.

It's not a specific hardware issue either. For example two Samsung devices are showing on WiFi. Three others are showing on Ethernet!

I have no need to group devices. Or manage them in regards of parental control etc. So I will just leave it be.

If anyone from EE development team is watching. It would be nice if the hub web interface had all the control of the app. 🙂

Switched last Monday (was running my own router on BT). Installed the EE hardware Friday afternoon. The device list has been incorrect since I turned everything on.

My original WiFi I had my own names SSID with 2.4GHz & 5Ghz bands split (5Ghz had "_5G" on the end). EE hardware I changed the SSID to match my current 2.4Ghz SSID. Quite a few my devices are on that band (Ring hardware, smart meter display etc). Any devices using the old "_5G" was then moved over. Phones were aware of both SSID names.

I paired the Smart WiFi Plus hardware using the Ethernet cable provided.

I am on my phone at the moment. I will need to grab those from my PC.

Just a note. All my devices (which are on at the moment) are connected to the Internet. The ones that support it (phones, Sky Q box, Amazon FireStick) speed test shows they are running at my broadband's limit.

The router has four ports used.

Port 1 - PC.

Port 2 - Connected to a 4 port switch. It is connected to another switch in the room next door. All the items are currently turned off. Only item on the first switch which is on is a Raspberry PI (has a static IP).

Port 3 - Synology NAS (has a static IP).

Port 4 - EE Hybrid Hub.

The Router's Web page thinks I have 15, active, Ethernet port based devices.

All the devices are working. It's just the web page is screwed as to their connections.

I'll do the screen shots later...

If it is wireless and connects say direct on the router then will show as wireless.

I have for example powerline ethernet connected, other end of it is satellite box (E)+ Ring Doorbell (W)+ Ring Camera (W)+ 1 IOT devices (W) which is 1 Ethernet 3 Wireless, in the Web manager they are all Ethernet (4) off them as the main connection is via the Powerline Ethernet.

That would be my Port 4 with the 4 Devices attached as per the link.

No Powerline modules. I did have before the EE switch over, but they are all unplugged now.

I have Smart Hub Plus (only Ethernet is a PC, Raspberry PI, & NAS Drive).

I have a Smart Wi-Fi Plus (wirelessly connected to the HUB). Its Ethernet port is connected to the Sky Q Box.

I installed the EE app and everything appears correctly on the app. It is only broken on the Smart Hub Plus page. So the wireless devices are listed as wireless and connected either to the Smart Hub Plus or Smart Wi-Fi Plus.

Not that bothered. I'll just use the app and ignore the routers own page for now.

Thanks anyway.

Seems it rebooted three days ago. Its now running firmware version r2.72.3. All the devices are visible. There are a couple that are marked as Wi-Fi but are in fact Ethernet connected. The app is correct. May be it will improve with each update! LOL!
