I changed from a BT Wifi system to the EE Wifi 7 router about 5-6 weeks ago. Before the change, I was sold the concept that Wifi 7 would be much better, faster and more reliable than the BT system I had installed. Honestly, WiFi 7 is faster (at the device) than the BT system it replaced but it is not reliable the speed at the device (as opposed to the delivery speed to the house) is highly unstable ranging from 700mbps down to 0mbps and anywhere in between. It is so variable and inconsistant that we are without internet connection for some period every hour, IOT devices are constantly being dropped from the network and streaming devices lag to the point that they are unusable. I have had an EE engineer onsite who told me that it was new and still quite unstable and it will likely take months for enough software patches to be developed to make it stable.

When we have enough Wifi stablity to actually test the speeds it often reports good results followed by bad within seconds. The online assitence has not worked, the onsite engineer did not make any measurable improvement and we are now going through the process of doing it all again.

The EE website looks like a rehashed version of the BT website with even less reliability (If that could be possible).

My advise would be to stay clear of EE and their Wifi 7 it is terrible and their support is worse.

Still nothing and when go on chat. Get told not able to have it. Even though I’m a new customer and have the 1.6gb package and pay £79.99

Yeah I’ve spoke to them. And said you will get WiFi 7. As the WiFi 6 Is capped. Running 2.5 LAN port on my pc. So need the new router if they won’t change it no point me paying £80 a month for 1.6gbps.
the speed I’m getting now.

It's not a test. It's an actual measurement.

Login to your EE Smart Hub/Router at http://192.168.1.254 with the admin password on the bottom of the slider label on the back of the router. Then on the Home > Status page you will see the WAN or Link Speed.

Thanks! Good! That confirms you have the 2.5 Gig ONT & that EE is supplying you with 1.6 Gig BB.

However that screenshot of your PC's Ethernet shows that it only has 1 Gig LAN as does the SH+ router. You'll need to do a speedtest over WiFi before you'll ever achieve 1.6 Gig speeds.
