topic Forced 5GHz connection. in Broadband & Landline

Evening all. I wasn't sure which section to post this in so here we go for general chit chat... what I'm wanting to achieve is for my tv (jvc amazon fire edition) to connect, and stay connected to the 5GHz network ad opposed to the 2.4GHz it currently defaults to.

Reason being, I often use Bluetooth headphones whilst watching tv, and listen to music through my tv, if I leave the room the Bluetooth connection is dropped... the tv tells me I should connect to 5GHz for a better experience but even if I turn the 2.4GHz off through router management, as soon as I enable it again the tv defaults to the 2.4... how can I make the tv default to 5GHz?

Thanks.

The fact that the TV defaults naturally to the 2.4 GHz band points to it being too far away from the router to maintain connection on the 2.GHz band.

@MrBojangles62 You can try the 5Ghz band if that is the advice, but the Bluetooth signal has nothing to do with the wi-fi 2.4ghz frequency range, as it operates on a different wave length. You want your Bluetooth to go further, distance wise, then you may have to look at a Bluetooth booster to extend that signal.
