How do I find out if my printer is compatible with WiFi router?

We have just transferred over to fibre broadband but now the printer does not connect to the WiFi. It's a HP OfficeJet Pro 8620. It's a brilliant machine that has worked well for me so I am very reluctant to buy a new one if I can get this to work.

I have tried the following:-

usual WiFI network set up wizard on the printer itself - it sees the wifi router but won't connect
hardwiring computer to printer and using HP Smart App to change the log in details
using an ethernet cable from extender to printer but printer had a conniption about that
HP Smart App on my phone
switching off 6ghz and 6 ghz to see if it picks it up on the 2.4ghz

I have lost count of the number of times I have entered the password.

Any thoughts on what else I can try?

As a last resort, how can I find out if the printer is compatible with the latest fibre routers or not?

@Charles82 2.5Ghz is the same regardless of what router you have.

A wired connection should work

Here’s the manual for that printer if you don’t have it >HERE <.

Via the app you need to make sure your device is also connected to 2.4Ghz

@Charles82 Have you used WPS on the printer and the app at the same time?

It worked for me after the manual approach did not work.
