I have moved and upgraded from BT to EE full fibre (1gb).

On the old BT router I always have 5 bars no matter where I'm in the house, from the ground floor to the loft room, it never missed a beat.

I now have an EE router and on the first floor the bar fluctuate between 3 and 4. In the loft it fluctuate between 1 and 2. It's a typical 1930 house with normal brick walls. If the old BT router always give me 5 bars then why is the new and improved EE router coverage is so poor compared to the BT one?

As for the speed, I'm right beside the router and I get 550, not the 700 minimum EE promised. In the loft it's approximately 110. Too be honest I'm not too bothered about the speed, even though I'm not getting what I was promised and paying for.

BT has a WiFi disc extender, does EE has the equivalent that I can buy that works with their current router?

Anyone else have issues with coverage

Thanks

If you have not yet sent it back, you would need to let EE know so they can stop the reminders.

EE also does a specific extender for the router, you don't say which one but probably Smart Hub plus.

The 700Mbps mentioned is at the router, not at the end of the WiFi range.

I have also just moved from BT to EE and my new Hubs signal won't reach my bedroom now!! 😡

I'm in a small flat only 12 meters from the Hub ..

The technical support advisors have tried the usual resets, a new Hub , then suggested in the end that I pay extra £7 / m for a plan which would include extenders .. I was so annoyed that was the only solution. !!

He suggested I buy an extender myself on Amazon and they'd give me £20 credit.

Can someone recommend which one I should get as I'm not sure how they work ..
