Hi i yust got the tp link wifi router TP link AX1800 adsl wifi router

would this work with Ee using my own router do i need to do any settings

Yes, but if you've gone for Digital Voice (DV) you must keep the EE supplied router as 1st in line from the phone socket.

In Using & Configuring a Third Party Router you'll find everything you need to set up your own router under the Copper section. What's missing from that is MTU = 1492.

OK, then you won't be having DV & so you can replace EE supplied router with this 1.
