Am I correct in thinking the Smart Wifi extenders can't connect to each other, only to the Smart Hub? (I'm sure I read that on here but I can't find it now.) This wasn't the case for the black BT complete wifi discs. This has caused a problem for me as since I upgraded to FTTP - which entailed moving from BT to EE - I'm getting patchy coverage in parts of the house.

My Smart Hub Plus is in a slightly odd place as the ONT (and previously the phone socket) are in one corner of the house. With the BT FTTC I could connect 2 discs to the Smart Hub 2 and a 3rd disc to one of other discs to reach the furthest point. But now that furthest point tries to reach the SH+, not one of the other extenders.

Can anyone confirm this before I take it up with EE? I have solved the issue with TP Link X55 but this means I'm currently paying for a service I'm not using.

This now becomes a question of i would assume EE CS Tech support to confirm to you how they are expected to work. Best i can do for you, but if you do find out post back any response that you get.

Yes, I've disconnected the EE router completely and I'm using the AX55 in router mode wired straight into the ONT. It's infinitely better - my network is stable throughout the house, the app doesn't freeze up, device management is a breeze (but I don't want to get too off topic, suffice to say the move to EE has been disappointing).

@Profile closed Lost the second battle with the compo fight, as i thought on original call 16th Oct don't worry your automatic compensation kicks in, here is your new appointment 21 day's later, all because an OR Contractor arrives late, is not prepared to drill a hole, but may be did not have a long enough drill bit, fills out the report customer is not ready for the install, sugar. and EE charge back to the original date, at least they changed that charge even though it was seen on there end that it was not completed until 5th Nov by OR engineers AT MY request, just not prepared to take all the hassle involved with EE/OR/MJ Quinn to sort this all out. Short story is if not OR doing then watch out what the contractor does... EE are correct they cannot get in the way but do seem to be prepared to fight for the customer it's just not worth the hassle/time/ or effort.

In the end OR did a wonderful job, in and out in less than an hour, all i had to do was drill the hole as everything else was done and at least i had 21 day's to get that done duh.

Update on this.

TP link X55 has functioned pretty much flawlessly for 2 weeks. Spoke to EE and they offered me a return to BT and the BT equipment at BT's price. However we also tweaked the EE price so it's only pennies different to the BT offer. So I'm keeping the EE account (wary of an accidental disconnection when switching back to BT) with my network gear (there was never an issue with the speed to the house).

While they didn't admit anything, they didn't question my comments on the performance of the EE equipment and were very quick to offer the BT solution.
