1.6 Gbps with Digital Voice

In preparation for Black Friday deals, I'm looking at options to upgrade to 1.6Gbps with WiFi7. However, I note that Digital Voice still isn't available with that line speed.

EE, is there any prospect of your offering DV with 1.6Gbps, or are you really trying to wind down landline provision for consumers?

I'm thinking it might be time to scrap DV, upgrade the line speed, and then get a proper VOIP service from a company like Vonage.

@Profile closed That's the way to go, just watch all the spec's on the various VOIP supplier's and especially with the landline number that you have, and any release from EE with that respect, deal with the VOIP company for complete guidance regarding that specific issue.

Do you have any experience with VOIP services? I've been looking at Vonage, but don't have any direct experiences of them, so there could be better options.

So do I, but in contract upgrades are allowed, so I'm trying to find out this information before Black Friday, because the upgrade will probably reduce my monthly payments over what I'm currently paying for 900Mbps. I don't really need a faster line, but I do want WiFi 7 and cheaper bills! (What I'd really like is to keep 1Gbps but have it synchronous).

Syncgronous is the way to go, and Openreach are planning to roll it out, but I don'r have any timescales.

As for Voip, no expeirence there, but A&A get good feedback on another forum I frequent. But with any supplier it pays to check costs and your intended usage. Some come with an app for your mobile so you can answer calls on that where ever you are. I had that from work 10 years ago, and don't understand why it does not come as standard from all suppliers.

@Profile closed I used the vonage service, 17 years ago and for a five year period and had no issues at all with it during the period, did not do anything line wise, and it supplemented the landline at that point, i was a worldwide support engineer then all over the world all of the time, company paid all of the calls, i only paid the monthly connection fee. So cannot fault them during the period, but as @Mustrum has pointed out A&A are certainly one that can get your landline all sorted with minimum fuss, but you should check out anything on there forum, for voip type issues or guidance.
