EE WIFI 7 router / BT Full Fibre 900

I have BT Full Fibre 900 but do not get what I believe should be minimum speeds (only about 600 mbps via WiFi) - is it possible to get your the EE WiFi 7 router to see if this speeds things up?

@MarcusPos What BT Router do you currently have, and what is the device that you use for your wifi speed checks? Are you currently a BT ISP customer?

@MarcusPos I assume you are testing via WiFi? The BT router is WiFi5 so the max you would normally get is between 500-600Mbps. You should get 900 over ethernet.

I beleive EE 900Mbps customers can get the WiFi7 router for £10/m.

However you can get WiFi6 routers that will give you upto 1800Mbps on a suitable conection, and they do not cost much these days.

@MarcusPos If you transfer across to EE Broadband (which you can do at any time in your BT contract by renewing at the same or higher deal) you will automatically be given the WiFi 6 SH+ router from EE, and if that is still not enough then you can pay the £10pm extra to upgrade to the Smart WiFi Pro (WiFi 7) package.

All of the new equipment and packages are only going to be available for EE Customers going forwards.

@MarcusPos Sorry the question was aimed in three parts, 2nd device used, ie say a mobile, if it is a wifi 5 device then you will never get any faster than the 600mb/s speed, if newer then it is possible as @Mustrum has pointed out, the device determines what the speed is going to be, 3rd, was because you said you had BT900 was thinking that you are still a BT customer at present.

@MarcusPos Good luck with that, would think that depending on how long your contract has to go with BT, until THEY are prepared to move you to the EE service, then you will be stuck with the BT Smarthub2 and it is a good router but has a limit on the wifi 5 as that is what it is, 600mb/s is not a bad speed on wifi trust me on that....

i got the Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000 NE(2 pack) to replace the terrible bt router and the just as bad discs.

im also on full fibre 900, just renewed at £39.99 which in itself is a bit bizarre given they are trying to push folk to EE

The Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000 NE(2 pack) has made a huge difference for not much money - i paid £69.99 for the 2 pack

its wifi 6, its all thats needed tbh.

the speed is only guaranteed with ethernet connection is my understanding..

The speed guarantee clearly only applies to speeds to the Hub not to speeds to your devices whether wired or wireless:

Indeed..these providers are cowboys..That should be headlined in their sales pitch rather than "900".

They should also provide a router fit for purpose rather than taking their customers as ignorant mugs
