Using own ADSL router on EE Broadband

A family member is having issues with their old EE Brightbox 2 router on an ADSL (not fibre) connection. I'd like to test a spare draytek router I have to hand on the connection but I'm not sure if my family member knows their broadband username and password. Is there any way of getting this information from the brightbox 2 at all or will we have to call EE support?

If you go to the Advanced menu of the hub manager (web interface on 192.168.1.254) then you should see the username. I don't think there is a password or you can enter anything such as "password"

You need to make sure to check if it is ADSL or VDSL, and for ADSL modulation is better on auto or ADSL2.

Thanks. I'd spotted this before but was a bit thrown because there is a <username>@fs field on the brightbox, but all the instructions on that page refer to @btinternet.com usernames. Am I right in thinking EE is now using the same setup as BT Broadband lines where <anything>@btinernet.com as a username and "anything" as a password will work?

As for modulation/ADSL vs ADSL2, its definitely running ADSL2 at the moment (11 down/1 up)

You may now equally use the <username>@fs creds or BT's bthomehub@btbroadband.com creds.

Yes, that is correct..

There is a way of working out the old password if you did want to use the old username, but it is a lot easier to use BT details.
