I had a set of 3 mini discs and found that I had to have they be able to see each other on Wi-Fi to get them to setup even though they are all connected on gigabit ethernet to a switch and the hub (not BT vodafone on city fibre)

I bough a cheap one on ebay to put near the EV charge as it often claimed to have fallen off the network and it needed cable to work well but I had to setup when it was close an existing disc.

Have I missed something?

on the plus side I now get 300-400 MB up and down from the disc for the EV Charge which is closer to my TV chain so not all bad!

BT help documents would be a place to start!
