      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello I have been leaving abroad for quite some time and been paying for a monthly EE SIM, which I use only to receive text from my UK bank. Instead of cancelling my contract (first option) could you kindly tell me whether I could 'downgrade' to a PAYG alternative and keeping the same number?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/4753134"&gt;@LucaRossi&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp; if you’re still in your contract term, you will have to pay off the remaining contract term. &amp;nbsp;The problem you’ve got is that you cannot change from a contract to a PAYG whilst you are abroad, this has to be done within the UK whilst connected to the EE network.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;I'd recommend checking your contract dates to see if you're out of contract on your current deal, You can find instructions on how to check your contract dates &lt;A href="https://ee.co.uk/help/profile/manage/when-does-my-contract-finish" target="_blank"&gt;here&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You'd just need to &lt;A href="https://ee.co.uk/help/contact-ee" target="_blank"&gt;contact us&lt;/A&gt; to move to pay as you go, a guide can set your 30 day notice to move to pay as you go for you.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Your EE sim needs to be activated on EE's UK network before it can be used abroad.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;The downside to cancelling the contract would be that you'd lose your mobile number.&lt;/P&gt;
