Sim only upgrade

I currently have a sim only, I am in month 16 of a 24 month contract and I pay £33 a month at the minute, I am able to upgrade for free right now, I have seen the same sim only deal I am on now for £24 a month for 12 months then £48, 24 month contract. Will I be able to upgrade for free before it goes up to £48 after the 12th month?

@as1994 Look at you account it’ll say if you can upgrade now or you can text upgrade to 150 to find out

My question is if I take this new sim only out, will I be able to upgrade again for free before it goes up to £48 p/m

Welcome to our community.

Early upgrades on SIM only plans should only allow you to move to a phone plan and not another SIM plan. If for some reason it is allowing you to change to another SIM plan early, there's no guarantee it will allow you again with your next contract.

Since it is a £48 SIM (albeit with a 12 month discount to £24) it will limit your upgrade options to plans equal to or higher than that original cost, as you will have committed for a contracted period of 24 Months on that £48 tariff.

As it's a 24 month contract you won't be able to upgrade until near the end of the 24 months. What you are suggesting of buying a 24 month contract but curtailing it for free after 12 month to avoid the higher later full price doesn't make sense.
