Urgent: Request for Contract Termination Without Fees

Dear EE,

I am writing to formally request the immediate termination of my contract without any termination fees.

For the past seven months, I have been unable to use my data due to persistent network issues in my building. This should be clearly reflected in your records, as my usage has been minimal to nonexistent. Despite paying for a service I could not use, EE has failed to resolve these ongoing issues.

Furthermore, I am now relocating abroad for work to a country where EE does not provide service. I find it unacceptable that moving to a non-supported country is not considered a valid reason to cancel or pause my contract without penalty. I have upheld my end of the agreement by paying for a service that I could not fully access, and it is unreasonable to demand further payments for a service I will no longer be able to use.

Given these circumstances, I expect my contract to be terminated immediately without any additional charges. Please confirm the cancellation and provide written confirmation at your earliest convenience.

If this matter is not resolved fairly, I will have no choice but to escalate my complaint to the relevant regulatory bodies.

I look forward to your prompt responses

Hi @Smeha

You'll need to speak to EE CS on 150 as there is no account access on these forums.

https://ee.co.uk/help/contact-ee/complaint

Ultimately you signed a contract so if you want out then you'll need to pay your remaining contract term.

Thanks

@Smeha The service within a building will never have any sort of guarantee as the building could be blocking the signal. You can take this a far as you like you’ll not win as the ombudsman will also know that buildings can block signals. Do you have access to WiFi within that building? If you do then use WiFi calling as this is the exact reason for it. But you mention data not the ability to make/receive calls/text.

You going abroad doesn’t get you out of your contract obligation. Out of curiosity what country are you moving too ? Roaming is also optional not contractual.
if you’re in the Armed Forces, then yes, you can freeze your contract, and I believe that’s only for 6 months, are you in the armed forces?

if you’re not in the armed forces then you need to pay off the contract or continue paying it and then give 30 days notice once you get within the 30 days of the minimum term.

and this isn’t customer services so you can not make this request here

@Smeha this is not customer service, but a public forum, which does not know who you are as well as having no account access.

The terms and conditions are in your contract and as long as you have the ability to use your phone when out and about, then that is not EE’s fault if there is no signal in the building, that is why phones now have wifi calling for that purpose.

No network will provide service in another country, if you are moving whether long term or indefinitely, you would either have to pay as you go, or cut your losses and lose the number and get a SIM card from the country you are moving to. I am sure it is the same for other countries in the world too.
