There's not really much EE can do, it's a standard banking process.

As part of your order EE will request the money from your bank, if it completes then they will claim it (so to speak). If for whatever reason it doesn't complete the money is 'held' after 3-5 working days when EE don't claim the money it will bounce back into your account.

There's nothing anyone can do to speed it up unfortunately.

In an age of instant transfers, it’s advantageous for them. But for those financially constrained, they’ve lost access to that money for a week. Knowing it’s only “on hold” makes no practical difference in the interim.

At the very least, surely when making the offer EE could clearly set the deal out - including the risk of failing checks but having to wait for the money to be released back?

Still not sure how think you’ve been scammed as you’ll be refunded. Where’s the scam ?

The order was checked and finance agreed with VFS while we were sat there. Took about a minute. Then we pd the deposit.

That EE are unable to do it the same way round on a much smaller amount seems unbelievable.

@Profile closed You got vetted there and then. There could be a number of reasons why @pamela38 got rejected with an online order after the order was placed. It’s only a request to order it doesn’t have to be accepted because an upfront cost was made.
