If your current SIM is functional and working, there is no need to unnecessarily replace it.

Your new plan will be updated on your existing SIM without you even realising.

My contract is up. I want to stay with EE but I'm being frustrated by not being able to find a way to speak to their customer service and I'm not in the UK to visit a store. I went through the new plan process online and discovered that they will send me a physical SIM for the new plan - this is a real pain as I'm not in the UK much. If I did do this does anyone know if the SIM is just posted through your door or would it need to be signed for or anything like that? And how does the switchover work? The SIM could be sitting at home for a while before I can get back to collect it and swap it over. When would the new plan kick in? Presumably when the SIM is replaced? I'm worried about the existing SIM being deactivate while I'm away.
