If it's a Flex Pay (Device finance) plan where airtime and device are paid separately these cannot legally be transferred as the account holder essentially takes out a Fixed Sum Loan for the cost of the device.

This would have been in the T&Cs as well, but it would be the same with any "finance" product like car finance etc.

I stupidly done a family member a favour and got a contract out in my name for him while his was living close by to help him out. He has recently moved Miles away and taken the contract with him and is refusing to pay me the bill as comes out of my bank. I paid it so I don’t end up with bad credit this month just gone but how can I get it changed over into his name so the bill falls to him and not me. Before any tells me I’m stupid yes I know I am but really thought I could trust this person being family

You will need to follow the change of ownership policy outlined under "transfer to a friend, colleague or family member" on the following page. This will need the consent of the proposed new account holder, without which you will remain liable for the phone.

https://ee.co.uk/help/profile/manage/change-my-account-in-the-case-of-a-life-event

As the account holder, you do have the option to add call restrictions to any phones in your name. This may help focus the mind of an errant user.

It's your contract. The family member is not party to it. If he doesn't agree to take it over or he can't pass a credit check there's nowt you can do other than somehow restrict his usage. You are lumbered with it.

That is the responsibility of the account holder, there's no way of avoiding that fact.

I've got that problem too. They don't even let me transfer the phone plan. Apparently we signed a legally binding credit agreement. I'm fuming.
