SIM Card is not work

I can't use my SIM number. I don't know if it was closed or not. I haven't used since 8 months. I want to use my number but when I first plugged it into my phone, it received the network, then it stopped receiving the network and now it is closed. I don't know why it was closed. Will I not be able to use my number anymore?

Are you a pay as you go customer?

If yes, you could be right your SIM may be in hibernation.
