If you purchase your chosen new phone as an upgrade, then a new plan comes with it - thus replacing your SIM-only plan.

If you want to remain on SIM-only, then purchase your chosen phone SIM-free from a retailer of your choice.

Upgrades now default to the "FlexPay" system where you have a finance agreement & monthly payment covering the device hardware costs, and a separate airtime agreement & payments for your usage. You can try comparing the airtime element of FlexPay with a SIM-only plan, and equally compare the FlexPay device costs with a SIM-free purchase. Then do the maths.

Hello,

I'm looking to upgrade my device, I currently have a very good SIM only contract with Unlimited everything and 1 inclusive extra costing me £28.38 a month.. if I upgrade my device and SIM the same SIM contract will cost me £39 a month before I've even thought about adding a device, so wondering if there is a way that I can add a new phone to my contract without the cost of the SIM drastically increasing?
