Hi,

My family and I will be visiting Scotland from Canada next week and I've been doing research regarding EE's Sim Only Plans using an eSim. I began the selection process online and found which plan I wanted . It was during the checkout process that I hit a road block - I was asked to create an account, which I started, but when I went to put in my information it wouldn't accept my Canadian address and phone number.

I'm simply interested in purchasing a EE Multi SIM Essentials Plus SIM - Unlimited 1m - eSim for 39.00. How do I go about completing this transaction? Can I complete this online and register it to my phone before we arrive in Scotland? Or will I need to visit an EE store or go somewhere else to get a plan?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

All you can do is take out a PAYG SIM & they don't come with eSIMs.

Okay, thank you for this information. That makes sense. I assume that a PAYG SIM is a 'pay as you go' sim? Am I able to set this up before arriving in Scotland or is it best to do it in person? If I have to do it in person, where is that typically done? Are there EE stores or other spots where I could get a EE sim?

This is part of the credit check process. A pay-monthly contract is a form of lending, and thus a UK address & credit history is a requirement.

As mentioned, you should be looking at a PAYG option, which is a top-up pre-payment service. This provides a physical SIM.

Yes, you can order PAYG SIMs from the EE online shop where you've already visited but now go to the PAYG SIMs section.. Just don't be logged into your EE a/c when you go there.
