You may either upgrade to a phone-plan, depending on certain criteria, or buy a "SIM-free" phone wherever you choose, and use that with your existing SIM-only.

New EE SIM-only customers can upgrade to a phone-plan after 6months. If you were previously a phone-plan customer, you can revert at any time.
