Ok thanks. But why am I able to purchase cheaper options in the app and on website. And as the lady I spoke to agreed she can just put me on a rolling 30 day tariff. My end date then changes to 9th July and I'm free to go wherever without waiting another year and without charge.

I'm currently half way through a 2 year SIM only unlimited data at just over £28pm Want to reduce this and there's a deal of £23 on my app which is reduced from £30. Although the saving ee quote is £216. This is wrong. The saving is £168. £216 would be correct if you were saving £9 a month. Have tried to get ee to see this error to no avail. They have also told me I'm not eligible as it's not an upgrade. But I would assume it is as it was originally more expensive than my plan without money off. I've also been told they can change me to a 30day rolling which then brings my end date forward by a year so I'm free to leave or stay. Would I not be liable for a massive fee as I'm effectively leaving mid term? I need some help here. Just want a cheaper price and not be tied to another 24 months again. Thanks!

@Clarkatron67 Unless you eligible to upgrade you can’t change to a cheaper tariff, your contract is a fix d term contract that you agreed too for the duration of that contract term. If they are offering you to switch to a 30 day rolling contract than that’s your only option and I’m surprised that they even offered this as your still within a contract term.

the tariff you say is more expensive before the discount doesn’t matter as it’s an offer at the discounted price so no it’s not more expensive then you currently have it’s cheaper because it’s been discounted so that’s the tariff cost and it’s cheaper than your current tariff price.

Contractually you have agreed to your monthly payments for at least the duration of your minimum term, and it sounds like you have 12months remaining of that.

An upgrade back to a phone-plan would be permitted.

When you say a phone plan that's all I have. Just a SIM only with EE.

Clarification of terminology might help here.

A phone-plan in this context, means a "phone plus airtime" setup, be it either FlexPay or traditional contract.

A SIM-only, by nature, does not have a device associated.

New SIM-only customers have a 6month lockout from upgrading to a phone-plan, this doesn't apply to ex-phone-plan customers. In your case, being 12months in, neither would apply.
