There is no automatic right of cancellation purely on the basis of the price increase, so early termination charges will apply if you're inside the minimum term.

Anyone doing so should also choose their potential new provider on the basis of whether the same price increases will apply - ensure that the chosen new provider doesn't have them and also provides a suitable network service in the locations you'll be using your phone.

I totally agree that the 3.9% price hike, over and above the CPI, is excessive and unwarranted.

I am also with Sky as well as EE and have both numbers on the one iPhone as signal is poor with Sky (O2) where I live.

At the end of January I received a 20% increase with my Sky tariff, however, I was given the option to cancel my contract if I was not happy with this - quoted:

“We hope you’ll continue to enjoy our services, but if you're not happy with the changes, you can cancel your Sky Mobile subscription by calling 0333 759 ——. If you're within your minimum contract period, call us within 30 days of getting this email to avoid early termination charges. Unless you tell us otherwise, your Sky Mobile subscription will continue as normal.”

Although I will stick with EE because they offer by far the best mobile coverage, it would be nice if they offered a similar option to the above, to those customers that wanted it.

I’m now with Labera. For the exact same data, calls etc it’s £1.99. per month (3 months) then £4.99 after. Cancel whenever you want. And the reception and speed is AMAZING!! I feel like I’m finally in the 20th century! And if I don’t like the service for what ever reason I can just cancel 🙂 I HIGHLY recommend.
