Cancelled my EE mobile contract as no service in my house. (Using WiFi calling which isn’t ideal). New network provider marginally better in house but nowhere near as good out and about. Is there any possibility of returning to previous contract with EE within 14 days?
(You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone!)

Welcome to the community.

Have you applied your 30 days notice?

If you have exceeded this I don't think it will be possible to activate your contract.

Please get in touch and the team will be able to advise you further.

Hi @XRaySpeX.

If the number has left the network the account would then be fully closed.

They would then need to request a PAC from their new provider and make a new account with EE.

But what does @Espee mean by "reactivate" a contract? If they mean getting their number back then the PAC process deals with that.

If they mean getting their old plan back, then I agree that's gone.

Incidentally, I'm intrigued why using WiFI-calling "isn't ideal" - it provides seamless use of a phone anywhere that mobile coverage isn't available.

“Isn’t ideal” means that - yes - there is part of me which thinks I should be on a network that can provide phone signal to my own home.

Agree that WiFi calling should be sufficient. Unfortunately my EE broadband does not supply all rooms of my small house equally. Wifi calling cuts out when moving from one room to another. Had to separate out the bandwidths and have phone connected to slower speed to get around this problem. This is what I mean by ‘not ideal’!

Unfortunately, 100% national indoor coverage is an unrealistic expectation - it's the nature of radio networks that good and bad coverage areas will always feature.

WiFi-calling itself is a very reliable and stable service, but is only as reliable as the underlying broadband & router. I don't know about EE broadband's free router, but a couple of other major ISPs let you use your own router with mesh and/or extension pods as required. It's what I use to extend wireless coverage where the freebie equipment just didn't cut it.

Are you looking to cancel and pay your outstanding balance to purchase a new contract with EE?

If yes and you wish to keep your existing number, please give us a call so our customer care team can provide you with an early upgrade fee rather than a termination fee.
