You need to call CS with 30 days notice to cancel the contract & move it to PAYG. If you are still within your min term you will be liable to pay early termination fees for the rest of the term. It will basically be months left x monthly charge - 4%.

You still pay for an eSIM on contract & there are no eSIMs on PAYG.

My daughter has an additional line on my ee contract. I've tried to split her contract off to a separate account previously with 0 success. Now she's moving abroad I definitely need to end her pay monthly contract either for payg or esim (?) so I don't keep paying for it. Ideally she could keep her uk number for when she comes back. She's leaving end of this month. Any suggestions? It does not seem at all straight forward.

@Debs2023 Just to add you can not change from a contract sim to a PAYG sim when abroad this has to be done in the UK as you need to be connected to the EE network directly for this to happen.

Also a PAYG sim has to be used at least every 3 months to keep the SIM card active, failing to do this will see the SIM card go in to hibernation and if it’s not reactivated within 3 months of this the sim will deemed as not being used and the number will be taken out of use and then it’ll be gone for good.

Thanks. Both phones are free to upgrade as beyond the contract period so hopefully free to cancel also.

Just to add that the actual switch to PAYG after the 30-days notice needs to occur while you are still in UK, not just your request to switch.

I need to get it sorted before she leaves the UK! Also I didn't know about the number expiring after a few months.
