Friends and family discount

Hello, I've recently been given a friend's and family discount.

The code expires in the next few days and I've been holding out for the new phones to arrive on the market.

Would I be able to apply for a SIM only contract until the new phones arrive and then upgrade to one of those (whilst still retaining my discount) if so can anyone advise on what contract to take,I.e 1 month rolling or 12mths

SIM-only upgrade eligibility rules are on Page 5 of the current price guide PDF - here

If you choose a 12 or 24month SIM-only, you have a 6month lockout as a new customer. A 30day plan has no such period.

Thank you for a quick reply.

I should of added that I am currently an EE customer with a phone contract that has just ended. It finished at the start of this month.

Would I still fall into the same category?

All this detail is in the link I posted, but there is no lockout if you have moved to SIM-only from a handset plan.
