I need to leave EE. I have another provider already as well - but I now want to leave EE completely but take my present number to the other provider. Are there any charges?

@Kathyapple1959 To port your number out of EE to a different network will automatically close your account, you’ll be required to pay off any remaining contract term.

@Kathyapple1959 : As you want to keep your number, text PAC to 65075. It will respond with your PAC & how much you will have to pay in Early Termination Fees if you are still within your min term. Give the PAC to new provider. This will have the effect of cancelling your EE contract but you may be liable to pay early termination fees. Best to do this in last few days of your contract term so you have little or no overlap.

If I try to text that number it says it will incur charges on my phone (is this because its a special reserved number - as I have unlimited texts on my phone).

It's just a general warning in case you have no allowance but in the case of that no. OFCOM have mandated it must be free.

To be honest - I've been with EE for so long - I don't even know what my contract looks like. I've bee with EE for about 15 years and its a 'sim only'

It's not a matter of how long you've been with EE but when your current contract started. When did you last upgrade?

I've never taken the option of any upgrades. I've been on the same plan since the beginning.
