charges after contract has been cancelled

I have cancelled my contract and it comes to an end tomorrow. My new sim card hasnt arrived yet from my new service provider. I have 2 questions:

1: my contract end date is 27th. Does this mean it's midnight on 27th that it comes to an end of does that mean midnight on 26th?

2: how much will I be charged per day if I have to carry on using this SIM card until my new one arrives? The guy on the phone said I can use it but didn't say what it would cost.

Same as you've been paying pro-rated. But you've probably paid this already in advance & might be due for a rebate.
