The very nature of SIM-only is that EE supply your network service, but the phone is your responsibility - you have signed a 24month minimum term contract on that basis.

Did you join EE directly onto the SIM-only, or were you on a handset-plan before then? The upgrade eligibility rules do differ, if you were on a handset-plan you can upgrade back to the same anytime. If you joined directly onto the SIM-only plan, you can upgrade to a phone-plan after 6months.

Your only other option is to buy a new phone SIM-free from any retailer of your choosing, and then put your existing EE SIM into that phone.

Hi,

My fiancee has been round my house and our daughter has spilt water on the phone and now her phone doesn't work or charge. She has a 24month sim only contract. We are stressed and don't know what to do. Is there anyway to get out of the sim contract. She wants to get a phone on a pay monthly contract but then would have to pay for 2 sim cards. We have house insurance but not sure if this can cover it. Can anyone help us?

Many thanks,

Daniel
