Paying a higher upfront cost

Hi,

I'm looking into moving from pay as you go onto a monthly contract but I was wondering is it possible to pay more towards the upfront cost and get a lower monthly tarrif?

No, you can only choose the upfront costs in offer but there's nowt to stop you paying a lump sum in advance to your account to be used as credit against future bills.

You can do the switch from PAYG or Flex online by Switch to pay monthly and save . Your existing PAYG credit will be carried over as credit towards your future bills. You keep your existing SIM & no. The plan on it is just switched to contract.

Out of curiosity how would that work? Let's say I paid £250 upfront, would they keep taking the monthly bill from that £250 until it runs out? And at that point I'd pay monthly by direct debit (for example)?

Could I pay in lump sums again during the course of the contract?

Yes, your bills would be deducted from the credit balance until is runs out, @Precious_Ola. If you leave your Direct Debit set up, it will automatically take a payment once there's a balance to pay.
