Be careful. I have been with EE since 2007 when it was orange and I am a loyal customer.

EE gave a default on my credit without notifying beforehand. The law states that I have to receive a default notice by post so I have 14 days to pay.

I’ve always paid my bills and I was one month in arrears which I’ve already paid.
be careful of EE.

I will be leaving them after my contract is over and I will be writing to them in regards to the default letter

Supposed to give a default notice letter and 14 days to pay but you
didn’t. I will take this matter further and I wi move my contract to
another company--

The article provided does advise ' We’re not required to write to customers to tell them we are recording a default on their credit file or provide a copy of their original agreement. See our understanding credit files Help pages for further information'

If you email the credit files team they will get this looked into for you.

EE's demand for you to pay your bill is sufficient notice under the law. Your failure to pay it is the trigger for EE to report a default to the credit agencies.

@Mizan1 , just a warning, you may find that another company may not offer you a contract, due to the fact that you have a default on your credit file, as it will stay there for 6 years.

It is always best to ring a company when having problems with paying bills, and it is really up to you to make sure that payments are made.
