Set up a new contract at the beginning of August and paid a £50 upfront payment in order to receive the phone. This months bill has an additional charge of £50 as a one off payment for a new iPhone! Am I right in saying this should be refunded as I’ve already paid?

At a guess, I’ll say you’ve been charged you have a roaming enabled and this is a refundable token. If you want this back now just call customer services.
