I've checked on the website instead of the app and found a lot more information. The contract is still requested as ending which is great with a small explanation of part charges. I'm guessing cancelling is part of ' new plan' but the phone is still marked to end so I'm happy and the panic has settled. Thank for you help everyone.

So I've cancelled my contract 12 months early. I'm fully aware I'm going to have charged, but I want to make sure the charges are part of the process since 150 team as failed me before never updating another contract to payg. Downloading the bill doesn't help since the information about 'part charges' are so poorly explained and a Google search explained that it's an upgrade which would be the very opposite of what I want.

You will have to ring customer service and they should be able to let you know.

Not sure why you were doing a Google search about your bill, how is that supposed to help give you an answer?

Have you received your bill yet? I would suggest taking another look at it, and if concerned ring customer service.

I'm fully aware this is a public forum, and you don't have access to my account, thank you. What I was asking was if anyone is charged with a 'Part Changes' on their bills when you are cancelling an account, since the information I received about a 'Part charges' was basically nothing on my actual bill statement. I googled what 'part charges' actually are to find out usually it means upgrading which is definitely not what I want.

Obviously I will call customer service but so far after 4 calls of a 45 minute wait I'm no closer to leaving and really rather leave that to the last resort.

I requested it Thursday, bill came in today. I was told about the charges and final bill at the end of the month but I'm not sure what 'Part charges' is referring too.

Sorry, I should have explained that part a bit better. My request for PAYG was for a different contract that was ending. I had to call them as I've got two contracts and couldn't do it myself. Was told it would be changed by Tuesday but it never happened for some reason. Ended up going to another network and PAC coded it.

It will also depend whether you have cancelled at the end of the month or half way through, I would have thought.

Thank you for the explanation update.

Part Charges are indeed part of upgrading where you get a part credit charge for the old contract paid in advance ending & a part debit charge for the new contract starting in its place.

When you cancel early part charges do not come into it. You are liable to pay early termination fees for the rest of the term. This will basically be months left x monthly charge - 20%.

I suppose a part charge credit could be considered to to come into being when cancelling to cover that part of the contract already paid in advance for the current month but this is usually a drop in the ocean of the whole early termination fees.
