I have a very low usage mobile phone and have had it since March 2013 on the Dolphin 7 tariff. I only use it for calls and texts, I do not use data.

The other benefit I have is that when I am in Spain on holiday I do not have to pay extra charges to use my phone for calls and texts, which I find very useful.

I have today received a letter saying that I need to discuss a new plan with you and if I do not do this by November I will be automatically moved to anew plan.

This does not seem right, I pay every month, never missed a payment and you are trying to force me to move.

Please advise?

Thanks for getting back to me, I gave you incorrect information, I was looking at some old documentation, in fact the plan I am on is EE 3G Plan 500MB.

They state that my 3G plan will not be supported from January 2023.

Basically I want to stay where I am as I do not need anything else and the fact that my plan covers the EU is a great benefit as there is no extra charge

If EE want to close your plan, they are quite entitled to do so. If you have an old plan and EE want to move you, then the option to stay as you are is not available.

I would recommend you use the 4months notice you have been given, to research your alternative options.

You've already been moved from an Orange contract to an EE 3G contract plan & now they are threatening to close that & move you to a standard EE contract that will not include roaming. Again there's not much you can do. Their T&C's always contain the clause that they can always make changes to the service or even withdraw it with 30 days notice.

@garyfield Than new plan will probably mean a EE PAYG and that still allows you to use that new EE sim when in the EU at no extra charge. What you might have an issue with is if your phone doesn’t support 4G it’ll only work on 2G. A move to a new plan doesn’t mean they want to or are threaten you to move to a contract. You need to call customer services and ask what your options are as they can not threaten you to move to a contract and from what you’ve put you are not being threatened with anything such thing as mentioned above.

Why on earth would EE plan to move him to PAYG? They would lose a continuously assured paying cust.
